Don't support the PCM.
The Communist Party of Mexico is a highly revisionist organization and should be called out and rectified or rid of by the proletariat in Mexico.
Bourgeois democracy elections are today. There have been displays of support toward the Comunist Party of Mexico (PCM) by some people (including the reactionary organization I spoke about on my previous article).
Perhaps the most well known “communist” organization in Mexico, the PCM is an organization that claims to be “comunist”. Its candidate for the bourgeois 2024 Mexico elections this coming Sunday, 2 June 2024 is Marco Vinicio Dávila.
There are two organizations in Mexico claiming to be the “Comunist Party of Mexico”, however, out of these two the one I’ll talk briefly about is by far the most well known organization.
On November 20, 1994, a group of self-ptoclaimed “communists,” mainly former members of the bourgeois (“reformist/democratic”) socialist Socialist People’s Party (now Socialist People’s Party of Mexico), formed the National Organizing Commission of the Party of Mexican Communists, launching a Manifesto in which three main tasks were proposed: “criticize capitalism; study the causes that led to the temporary defeat of socialism and criticize the ideology of the Mexican revolution."
To achieve this, they proposed the construction of a party that would constitute the vanguard of the ‘working class’ and the unity of the “socialist left”.
This year they have decided to present their candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Marco Vinicio Dávila. The party is not on the ballot.
Dávila (and therefore, the PCM) is not a person that should be supported by the proletariat. Do not go to vote. Instead go out and protest, agitate, read up on the theory, educate as much as possible, incite people not to vote and tell as many proletarians to start organizing as much as possible, show solidarity with other proletarians, and yes, boycott the elections however you can. There is no point in engaging in bourgeois democracy when we know it won’t bring us anything different to what we are already accustomed. Nothing at all will change by engaging in bourgeois democracy, not this time anyway.
Marco Vinicio Dávila is a petite bourgeois preaching to petite bourgeois about attacking the bourgeois and getting the means of production the bourgeois own for the petite bourgeois.
Dávila caters to the petty bourgeois because he has said he won’t actually expropriate them. Here is a quote from him that makes his petite bourgeois intentions very clear:
"We do propose the expropriation and socialization of the large means of production. What does this mean? We are not thinking of expropriating the 'small producer' (sic), the 'small merchant' (sic), 'the self-employed worker' (sic), we are thinking of expropriating the 'large means of production' (sic)..."
Any marxist reading this quote will clearly know that person is not a marxist, nor does he care about marxism nor about carrying out marxism-leninism in Mexico. The PCM (and Dávila) are engaging in the election for the sake of growing their organization and visibility. The PCM is not the party us marxists in Mexico should support.
